Andy Wood’s brother/Malfunkshun’s Kevin Wood recently recorded a video message to fans at a Chris Cornell tribute show in Hungary.

“Hi this is Kevin from Malfunkshun, saying hi to all of the Grunge fans in Hungary. I am honored to be able to speak to you, and I wanted to say some words about Chris. Chris Cornell was a wonderfully gifted, warm hearted, kind individual, I really liked him.

I talked to him not too long ago and he seemed like he was on top of the world. He was happy about his kids, he was happy about his prospects as far as his career. We talked about some good old times, some times in the old days of Seattle where we played the same venues, when we hung out with Andrew, when we were making our ways as young men.

We’re all going to miss Chris, especially his family. My heart goes out to his family. He was so wonderfully gifted and so talented. We had plans to do some recordings together. But all of this has passed now, and we can listen to his music and enjoy it.

Thank you Hungary, thank you for the support, and for keeping the Grunge spirit alive. You guys are great, rock the house down tonight.”
