William DuVall gave an update on the status of Alice In Chains’ sixth studio album in a new interview with WRIF.

“I know we’ll probably be talking about that kind of thing over the next few months, it’s still early, we’ve got to get through this tour first.”

“We make a habit of kind of starting pretty much with a clean slate every time we’ve gone in. We’ll have to see, that challenges you, so we’ll have to see how that manifests this time, but we’re not there yet.”

DuVall also discussed Alice In Chains touring with Guns N’ Roses, “They call the tour ‘Not In This Lifetime’ for a reason, you never thought it would happen. We were very excited just even hearing it was going to happen, let alone getting to join them for part of it.”

He added, “There’s a friendship there and a lot of mutual respects over a number of years. We love Duff and Slash, and we were just glad for them that this could happen. Of course Axl is sounding better than ever, so it’s just great, we’re honored to do it. We did the first two gigs back at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas a couple of months ago, so it was a natural fit that we would join them on the stadium leg as well.”

“It was really cool getting to do our gig and then getting to kind of fanboy out a little bit, that was a privilege. To still get to be a fan at this stage of the game is one of the most fun things about this gig.”
