Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan recently revealed the he pitched a television series that appears to be similar to the Dave Grohl HBO series ‘Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways’ in a new Instagram story Q&A.

It’s unclear if Corgan pitched his series before or after Sonic Highways aired, though his project seems more focused on the documentary aspect than recording gimmick Dave Grohl used. Corgan has filmed himself traveling across the United States and writing songs in the past. Corgan attended Dave Grohl’s 50th birthday party in Los Angeles earlier this year.

A fan asked, “Would dig a doc series where you travel the country talking about the local music history.”

Corgan responded, “I actually pitched that as a TV docu series once and no one was interested.”

Corgan also recently posted on Instagram, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my brother, JIMMY CHAMBERLIN. I remain forever impressed! Here is a view of JC’s window to the world, and I’ve said before, I have the best spot in the world to watch him lay fire to our songs…@chamberdrums @smashingpumpkins.”

Jimmy Chamberlin has announced that he is having a painting commissioned of his beloved cat Willie.

“Incredible cat paintings by my good friend @fishtower – I just commissioned him to paint the magnificent @willie_silverboy ! So excited for the result. #catsofinstagram #cats #cats_of_instagram #paintings.”
