Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan revealed how his driving a Ferrari literally made Marilyn Manson so sick he vomited in the passenger’s seat in a new SiriusXM interview. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“I bought a car, it was used, and it happened to be a Mercedes Benz. SPIN magazine circa 94 actually printed a blurb that was making fun of me for driving a used Mercedes because alternative rock people didn’t drive fancy cars. Now think of the world we live in today, that was the world I lived in, where they made fun of me for driving a used car.

The story goes I walked into the local Mercedes dealership and I said, ‘Show me what you have.’ And I obviously settled on this car, it was $64,000 or something like that, it was expensive, but at that point it felt like a million dollars to me, and it still is a lot. The guy said, ‘How are you going to pay for this?’ And I said, ‘Cash.’ I literally came back the next day with $64,000 in cash, and was like [flipping the cash]. I did the trip.

Then five years later I did the exact same thing at the Ferrari dealership in Beverly Hills, and it was a lot more money. Same routine, cash. Marilyn Manson actually still talks about me taking him in that Ferrari down Mulholland Drive and making him so sick he threw up. It’s quite the accomplishment.”
