This past Monday (March 17th), both Green Day and Linkin Park attended the iHeart Music Awards. Since both groups were nominated for, and won, awards in several Rock and Alternative categories, photos of the two bands together were taken on the red carpet.

While fans may celebrate and enjoy seeing a photo of Green Day and Linkin Park together, Jaime Bennington (son of the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington) does not, taking to Instagram to share his thoughts.

“I’m not a huge Green Day Fan or anything but seeing this [Billie Joe Armstrong’s photos with Emily Armstrong]… These pictures are pretty lame. I gotta say,” he started. “First of the pictures are fine. Yes, it’s a little sad and little lame seeing them together. But they’re artists competing for awards in the same category.

He continued: “So, whatever. They’re bound to meet each other. They’ve likely met each other before I’m 100% certain that Chester’s met at least one of the Green Day guys. Second, I swear to God I sear it I just saw Green Day do a performance with they are saying something like, ‘F*ck Donald Trump.’

“I swear to God they were telling the president to go f*ck himself. So, circling back to the pictures in point one, I’m kinda like, ‘You guys are kinda sellouts a little bit, aren’t you? Aren’t you a little bit.’ That’s what I see. When I see Green Day choosing to take a picture with the Armstrong.”
