Chris Cornell ‘Last Gift’ When He Died Finally Revealed

Late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell’s mother-in-law Toni Karayiannis has revealed the final gift he gave her just a few days before his death on Mother’s Day in May 2017. She revealed that she has left the book Chasing Chaos: My Decade In And Out Of Humanitarian Aid by Jessica Alexander wrapped just as he gave it to her.

Chris Cornell’s daughter Toni posted on Instagram for Mother’s Day about her mother Vicky, “Happy Mothers Day to the strongest, bravest and most incredible woman I know. I admire you, and am so lucky to have you as my mommy. You are my everything. ❤️❤️❤️ #happymothersday #queen #vickycornell.”

One day after the Chris Cornell’s death in May 2017, Vicky Cornell released a public statement that mentioned Chris flying home for Mother’s Day.

“Chris’ death is a loss that escapes words and has created an emptiness in my heart that will never be filled. As everyone who knew him commented, Chris was a devoted father and husband. He was my best friend. His world revolved around his family first and of course, his music, second.”

“He flew home for Mother’s Day to spend time with our family. He flew out mid-day Wednesday, the day of the show, after spending time with the children.”
