Walk the Line star Josh Holiday will play late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell in the new biopic ‘Black Days,’ set to begin production in September. The film is about the final days of Chris Cornell’s life before his death, with actors sought to portray Chris’ wife Vicky Cornell, bodyguard Martin Kirsten, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd. Actors will also play a doctor, hotel maid, and road manager.

The Vicky Cornell role is described as being aged 35-55, and ‘Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial, Latino / Hispanic, White / European Descent.’

Road Rage Films LLC and Amerifilms LLC are making the movie. The Reelz TV Chris Cornell ‘Autopsy’ documentary had some dramatized scenes with actors a couple of years ago, but this is the first feature length movie to dramatize the death of Chris Cornell.

The production company describes ‘Black Days’ as ‘a film based on true events about the last days in the life of grunge music icon Chris Cornell.’ Chris Cornell died by suicide in May 2017 in his hotel room following a performance with Soundgarden in Detroit.

Cornell’s death has led to drama amongst Vicky Cornell and her mother Toni, with the other side including Chris’ brother Peter, Eddie Vedder, Eddie’s wife Jill Vedder, and Soundgarden. Vicky Cornell and Soundgarden are currently in litigation, with a trial by jury sought.
