In mid December Photocoyote posted a piece of artwork featuring Chris Cornell and his brother Peter.

He wrote, “”Now my soul is stretching through the roots”

Chris with his brother Peter.

Always loved the original picture that inspired this illustration I made. It was taken April 19, 2017 by Amy Decker at the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon when Chris performed The Promise.

To be honest I wasn’t a huge fan of that song until that day. After watching that performance I changed my mind and started loving it.

The Promise is the last song he left to us and it continues to make me shiver.

There’s something else I’d like to say.

Chris’s death was followed by a river of poison, a disgusting trail of meaningless malice. Something that Chris doesn’t deserve and that is not respectful to him at all.

Everybody has an opinion. Everybody thinks they have the right to judge. Everybody knows the truth.
Bullshit.

The only thing I know is that he took his truth with him.

Please let the man rest.

Peace out.”

Peter Cornell later left a comment on the photo.

“Cosmic Brother. You humble me. You honor Chris. Like so many, your love of the man and his music pours out in your art and your words. Your observation of the last 6 months is so spot on. The absurdity and malice. There are some of us who had a glimpse at the truth and it saddens us that we acquired such knowledge. But it is only a shard of the pane of glass that shattered that night. There is only one voice that could fill in the grey and that voice won’t be heard from again. Thank you for your gifts to us. All the very best to you and Your family.”
