Creed recently revealed that their third annual Summer of ‘99 and Beyond Festival will be co-headlined by Limp Bizkit. The announcement came as a surprise to some fans given the bands’ history, as they have allegedly been embroiled in a feud dating back to the early 2000s.
In a recent interview with Rock Feed, Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti addressed the long-rumored “beef” between frontmen Scott Stapp and Fred Durst, downplaying the situation ahead of the bands’ shared festival appearance this summer.
“They’re incredible. One of the best live bands out there,” Tremonti said of Limp Bizkit.
“You know, when we put that on sale, everybody’s like, ‘What about the beef?’ Between Scott and Fred. There was no serious beef. It was just he said, she said. Just like the song [Limp Bizkit’s ‘Break Stuff’], right?”
He went on to explain that the relationship between the two bands has been positive for years.
“But Scott and Fred– Scott said those guys have been friendly for a long time. And I’ve done shows opening up for them with my band Tremonti. And they’ve been nothing but gracious to me and it’s going to be awesome. I think people that want to see that ’90s era rock are going to be in heaven.”
