Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has confirmed that he will do an interview special on television with AC/DC singer Brian Johnson to discuss their careers. Johnson reportedly returned to AC/DC a couple of years ago to record new material, replacing Axl Rose after leaving the band in 2016 due to hearing issues on the ‘Rock or Bust’ tour.

AC/DC were rumored to have a new album and tour planned for 2020, with drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams also returning, prior to the pandemic shelving those plans.

Brian Johnson Meets Dave Grohl will air on Sky Arts on September 17th, with Johnson and Grohl filming the show at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 in California.

The synopsis for the special states, “It’s a meeting of rock legends as AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson meets Foo Fighters lead singer and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl at the Foos’ LA studio to share stories about life on the road.”

Brian Johnson is no stranger to hosting a television series, as he has hosted his ‘Life on the Road’ series since leaving AC/DC, interviewing big names like Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Lars Ulrich, and Sting. Johnson’s TV series first aired in the United Kingdom, but last year premiered in North America on AXS TV. Dave Grohl has filmed documentaries including ‘Sound City’ and has appeared and guest hosted multiple television shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live. Dave Grohl buying a huge mansion near Neil Young was also just revealed.
