Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider recently found himself in the center of a social media debate after he gave his honest opinion about Black Sabbath’s 1971 album “Master of Reality.”

Responding to a tweet that called it a perfect “10/10, no-skip” record, Snider explained that while he is a fan of the album, he also thinks it is far from perfect.

“Stop the presses. I’m a day one Black Sabbath diehard and I LOVE this album. One of my faves. But 10 out of 10!? Embryo? Orchid? Solitude? Skip, skip, skip!” he wrote, taking aim specifically at the LP’s instrumental tracks.

In the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s death this past Tuesday (July 22nd), fans were quick to come to Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s defense in the comments, while others completely agreed with his take.

In an attempt to avoid backlash, however, Snider quickly clarified his remarks, adding:

“And I’m not dissing Ozzy…because he’s not singing!”

The frontman was then asked by a fan to weigh in on the debate surrounding Black Sabbath’s era with Ronnie James Dio as their singer – with some fans believing that “Sabbath without Ozzy is not Sabbath.”

In response, Snider simply replied: “I LOVED Sabbath with Dio!!!”

Weeks before Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22nd, Snider also shared his emotional reaction to Black Sabbath and Osbourne’s farewell show “Back to the Beginning.”

“Ozzy Osbourne was a little tough to watch,” Snider wrote on Twitter/X. “It was great but Heartbreaking on so many levels. ‘Mama I’m Coming Home’ was tough to get through. For us (the audience) AND Ozzy.”

He continued, clarifying his comments:

“Please don’t read anything negative into what I said. I was just sharing my own emotions with you. It should never have to end if we don’t want it to…but sadly gravity always wins.”
