Wolfgang Van Halen and His Mother Share Emotional Memories of Eddie Van Halen’s Final Performance
The video captured Eddie and Wolfgang performing together, with Eddie smiling proudly as his son began to sing. Wolfgang has now become a lead singer years later with his band Mammoth. Valerie captioned the post:

Wolfgang also posted an emotional message on Instagram, remembering the last concert he played with his father. The post marked 10 years since Van Halen’s final show at the Hollywood Bowl, which now holds special meaning for fans and family alike.
10 years ago today, we played the last @vanhalen show at the Hollywood Bowl.
Didn’t know it at the time, but in hindsight it was definitely one for the books and was quite the high note to end on. It was the last time I played a show with my dad as well. I miss playing with him everyday.
Fans were moved by Wolfgang’s words as they remembered Eddie Van Halen, one of the greatest guitarists of all time. The October 4, 2015 concert became the band’s last live show and a powerful farewell to Eddie’s incredible career.
According to Van Halen News Desk, the Hollywood Bowl performance was the final stop of the band’s 41-date North American tour. It was also Eddie’s last time on stage before his death in 2020. Despite health problems caused by cancer, Eddie finished the tour, showing his dedication to music and his fans.
Since his father’s passing, Wolfgang has continued his musical journey under the name Mammoth WVH. His songs and performances honor his father’s memory while showing his own talent as a musician. Wolfgang joined Van Halen in 2006 as the band’s bassist and performed with his dad for nearly ten years, ending with that epic final show at the Hollywood Bowl. Eddie Van Halen hoped to do a Van Halen reunion tour with Michael Anthony returning, and Sammy Hagar rejoining with David Lee Roth, and Wolfgang opening.
