Dave Grohl briefly freaked out fans at a recent Foo Fighters show in Denver, when he said the band was breaking up. Fans disappointingly booed, before Grohl finished his sentence, saying they’d break up when pigs flied.

Grohl said, “We’ve been here for fuckin 24 years, is it? What was the theater here, Octave Theater, that was the show? Yeah, done that, been there. Well, we’re gonna break up…when fuckin’ pigs can fly. When hell freezes over, then we’ll do to do one of those Hell Freezes Over tours, and just play Eagles songs all night long. I figure as long as you people come back, we’ll come back too. So if you all come back again, then we’ll all come see you.”

You can watch video of Grohl trolling fans in the video in the Instagram album below.

303 Magazine wrote about the show, “To anyone one who has even considered rock music dead, let them know that Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters say otherwise. As if fighting a personal crusade against any such idea, The Foo Fighters burst into the Pepsi Center Wednesday night to show amongst other things, that rock ‘n’ roll never dies. The 2 1/2-hour performance, an onslaught of thrashing guitars, rapturous drumming and twisting basslines covering the expanse of the Foo Fighters 26-year career, was a tour de force — a rock ‘n’ roll master class from some of the best to ever do it. Through the headbanging and fist raising, the Foo Fighters gave Denver one hell of a night.”
