In a new interview with Annie Mac on BBC 1, Grohl revealed that the album features “a bunch of guests,” including “some that will really surprise you.” Grohl added, “There’s one who is probably the biggest pop star in the world and– I’m not kidding– sings backup on one of the heaviest songs on the record and we’re not telling anybody who it is.”

He also said, “Without telling anybody, we’ve been in the studio for the last 6 months and we made the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record we’ve ever made. I’m not just saying that. Basically, I said to Greg Kurstin, ‘I want to make a record that sounds like Motorhead doing Sgt. Peppers.’ He was like, ‘Okay!’ So we recorded an 11 song record with him. Honestly, I think it’s going to take a lot of people by surprise. Every band says it’s the best record they’ve ever made, but wait til you hear it. It’s definitely the hugest thing we’ve ever done.

It was so hard to keep it a secret for so long man. For 6 months I’ve been trying so hard to keep this a secret. I’ve lied to all the journalists, basically, I can’t wait for people to hear it because this is the first record I’ve ever been this proud to play for people. Other albums I’ve been insecure or something about it, but this album, I’m like, ‘Listen to this.'”
