On yesterday’s edition of ‘The Five’ on Fox News, co-host Greg Gutfeld trashed the Red Hot Chili Peppers when showing video of Koko the Gorilla playing Flea’s bass.

“As most musicians know, this is a vast improvement over the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the worst band on the planet.”

Co-host Eric Bolling responded, “The producers said you should do this story, and I said no, Gutfeld is going to say the ape is better than Flea.”

Gutfeld added, “The ape is better than Anthony Kiedis. By the way, the ape is 45, which is half the age of Anthony Kiedis. Red Hot Chili Peppers, poor man’s Faith No More, don’t ever forget it.”

Bolling had a differing view, “I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, big fan.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis discussed camera phones at concerts in a recent French interview with Journal de Montreal. Below are translated quotes.

“The problem today, is the cameras during concerts. This keeps you from living in the moment. It is not important to have these pictures in megabytes. It is better to have them in your heart and your memory. We try to create an environment which is going to encourage them to keep their [camera phones] in their pockets and to look at us directly. In general, this works pretty well.”

He also discussed performing live, “Over time I learned to relax in order to not be too excited early in the day and then have a drop of adrenaline. I love when the butterflies arrive in time. This is important for the chemistry of a good performance.”
