Gene Simmons, is stirring the pot again. Just when we thought the makeup was off for good, rumours are floating about Gene potentially backing out of the much-anticipated KISS Army Storms Vegas event.

So, what’s the deal? Is Gene pulling a fast one, or is this just another rock ‘n’ roll misdirection?

First, let’s set the stage. The KISS Army Storms Vegas event is slated for November 14th to 16th, 2025, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It’s a three-day extravaganza celebrating the 50th anniversary of the KISS fan club. The event promises Q&A sessions, special performances, and an unmasked electric show featuring Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and special guest Bruce Kulick.

But here’s where things get murky. In a recent interview with 94.3 The Shark, Gene Simmons opened up on the band’s lineup.

When KISS officially announced “KISS Army Storms Vegas”, the band said that Stanley and Simmons — along with “special guests” — would play at least one show “unmasked,” meaning without their iconic makeup. It was later revealed that Thayer would also appear at the event, along with Thayer’s former band Black ‘n Blue, as well as former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach and the tribute acts Mr. Speed and Kiss Nation: The Kiss Tribute Show.

KISS’s official “KISS Army Storms Vegas” announcement made no mention of Eric Singer, making it unclear if he will be part of the event.

If you’re expecting the full KISS spectacle, you might be in for a surprise. This event seems to be more about celebrating the band’s legacy than reliving its glory days.
