Gene Simmons Supports White House Immigration Crackdown
KISS frontman Gene Simmons backed the White House’s stance on illegal immigration during a trip to Washington, DC, where he attended major events from the Kennedy Center to Congress.
Simmons, 76, was born in Israel and moved to the US as a child. He told The Post that people trying to enter the country should follow legal steps just like he did.
“There are laws. If you break the law, you’re a criminal,” he said.
He added that while he understands people face hardship, his views are firm, noting his mother survived a concentration camp during the Holocaust.
Simmons in DC for Honors and Senate Testimony
Simmons is in Washington to receive a Kennedy Center Honor and to testify before the Senate about closing a “radio loophole” that he says hurts modern musicians, including his own children.
The American Dream Still Exists, Simmons Says
He pointed out that many migrants come from countries run by dictators, like Venezuela. But he insists the US has a system everyone must follow.
“My mother and I waited years before we were allowed into America. The American Dream is alive,” he said.
Thoughts on Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani
Simmons is skeptical about New York City’s Socialist mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, but he’s willing to wait and see.
“Give the guy a chance. He was elected by the people,” Simmons said.
Even then, he noted that what he has heard so far about Mamdani “does not appeal” to him. He compared the situation to the US hiring former Nazi scientist Wernher von Braun for the space program.
Net Worth and KISS Success
Simmons wouldn’t confirm whether he’s worth around $400 million, but joked:
“I’m successful. I was thinking of buying Rhode Island.”
KISS has sold 100 million albums and made massive profits from merchandise.
