Dokken’s George Lynch defended Greta Van Fleet for their similar sound to Led Zeppelin, saying ‘I rip everything off too’ in a new Masters of Shred interview. He also hilariously recommended the lawyers from The Three Stooges.

“Listen, I rip off everything too — we all do,” Lynch said. “Who cares? Just own up to it. That’s all you’ve gotta do. I steal way more shit than Greta Van Fleet has ever stolen. See you in court. Good luck. I’ve got really good lawyers. Dewey, Cheatem & Howe [the fictional firm of ‘The Three Stooges’]. Ever heard of ’em?”

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash said Greta Van Fleet are at the forefront of the resurgence of rock and roll in a new Billboard Radio China interview. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“I’m interested to see where it goes the next few years, because there’s a lot of really hungry young rock and roll bands getting together right now that I’m aware of. Obviously Greta Van Fleet have done amazingly well and made everybody perk up and go, ‘Oh wow.’ Now there’s people looking for young teenage rock and roll bands to sign. It’s interesting, if you watch everything and as it develops in real time, it’s really boring. Shit takes what seems like forever, but if you’re not paying attention, all of a sudden you’ll turn around and go something just changed. It’s a constant state of ebbs and flows with rock and roll in this business.”

In a recent Instagram story Q&A, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan was asked what he thought about Greta Van Fleet, and he appeared to give them his seal of approval.

Corgan said, “Great, and sky’s the limit for where they can go.”

Smashing Pumpkins and Greta Van Fleet recently played together for the first time at KROQ Absolut Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles.
