In a new LouderSound interview, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash discussed posting weird photos on Instagram.
“Ha ha! I find it on Tumblr, Pinterest or some weird site I might come across. Horror and nudity are my two favourite things.”
He also discussed using Les Paul guitars, “I’m not sure if I chose the Les Paul or the Les Paul chose me. When I started picking up the guitar, the Les Paul had a certain aesthetic appeal to me. I didn’t know a lot about which guitar sounded like what, but a lot of guitar players I liked at that point in time had Les Pauls and I just thought they looked cool.
I did try a whole bunch of different guitars, from Strats to SGs, and then came full circle back to Les Paul, and that wasn’t until 1985 with Guns N’ Roses. I think I was using a Bicester Rich when Guns N’ Roses first started.”
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash discussed late Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister hitting on his girlfriend in a new Kerrang interview.
“My first real Lemmy experience actually happened at The Rainbow. This was probably pre-Guns N’ Roses and I was there with a girlfriend. We’re sitting in this booth, and I’m not anybody, right? So I get up to take a piss and when I come back, Lemmy’s there.
He’s on the outside seat, she’s on the inside, and I get on her other side. I’m so enamoured that Lemmy is there that I’m completely oblivious to the fact that he’s chatting up my girlfriend. And she’s in this weird state, thinking, ‘Who the fuck is this guy? And why aren’t you doing something about it?’
Lemmy finally realises that he’s become the third wheel in this situation and it’s not going anywhere for him, so he gets up. She was like, ‘Hey, I didn’t do anything…’ And I said, ‘Do you know who that was?’”
