Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready discussed meeting and taking a photo with Hillary Clinton at a 2016 Presidential campaign fundraiser during a recent discussion with Cameron Crowe. Clinton lost the election to President Donald Trump.

“We were at a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, should have fucking been President, its myself and my daughter. [My daughter] is explaining to her how she was Hillary Clinton for a picture of herself as Hillary Clinton in her class when she was 4 years old. So she’s explaining that to her, Hillary is I think feigning interest, or is genuinely interested in what she’s saying. I’m like, I’ve got to get a polaroid of this!”

He added the Hillary knew the band, and that she told him that Pearl Jam music used to be played inside the White House in the 90’s ‘all the time.’

“Yeah, she knew us. She said when Bill was in office, he actually invited the whole band after Kurt [Cobain] had killed himself, we were invited to the White House to talk to [George] Stephanopolous and Bill Clinton about what our interpretations of that were, because they were worried other kids were going to start doing that.

We happened to be on tour with Mudhoney, and they walked us right into the Oval Office, and they walked Mudhoney this way to the $5 tour. I love those guys. So we got to go in the White House and it was insane. We got to go in the Situation Room, it was kind of like that, talking to Clinton about stuff. Chelsea was a big fan of our band: ‘She’d play you guys in our house all of the time, the White House!'”
