This past weekend, the annual Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England took place, with headlining performances by The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, and Rod Stewart.

Despite being in London on Saturday (June 28th) as part of the European leg of their 50th anniversary tour, Iron Maiden weren’t booked for this year’s festival – which has previously seen performances by Foo Fighters, Metallica, The White Stripes, Oasis, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and many more.

However, in a recent interview with The i Paper, it doesn’t seem like the Bruce Dickinson fronted band has any interest in ever playing the famous festival.

“I always said I’d turn Glastonbury down if we were ever invited. I don’t want to go play in front of Gwyneth Paltrow and a perfume-infested yurt,” Dickinson told the publication.

He continued, sharing his thoughts on performing live in general:

“It’s not just about making money. We want sh*tloads of people to come and see us. I’m amazed at the prices that some people are prepared to pay to see some legacy acts.”
