The White Stripes fans would love a reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend, and fans are hopeful that a new note from Jack White is teasing a one-off reunion performance. Now, in another social media post, Jack has dropped more hints.

Jack White teases Meg White’s return?

In an Instagram post, Jack dropped a picture of Meg White and wrote:

“Meg White’s Drumming Spoke Louder Than Words”

In another post, he uploaded a carousel of Meg White drumming.

In July 2007, shortly after the band released its sixth album, “Icky Thump,” and celebrated their 10th anniversary, Meg reportedly informed the band’s archivist, Ben Blackwell, that the upcoming show in Mississippi would be their last. She was correct, as she has not performed on stage as a drummer since that time.

The band subsequently canceled their planned world tour and issued a statement indicating that Meg was experiencing “acute anxiety.” In February 2011, the White Stripes announced their official disbandment, stating it was “mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band.”

After exactly a decade with the White Stripes, Meg White disappeared and started having a private life. It’s unlikely that she will end her hiatus by appearing at this weekend’s Rock Hall ceremony in Los Angeles, even as her band earns the honor of being inducted alongside Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Chubby Checker and others. However, as the saying goes, never say never.
