The official Jane’s Addiction social medias announced they are canceling their tour and ‘taking some time away as a group’ after Perry Farrell’s meltdown in Boston. Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins have released their own joint statement.

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.

Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.

We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.

Our hearts are broken.
Dave, Eric and Stephen.”

Fans on Reddit praised Navarro, Avery, and Perkins’ statement. One fan wrote, “This is a classy statement. Expressing empathy whilst directly addressing the reality of the situation. The temptation would’ve been there to burn it all down but I’m glad they didn’t.

The ball is in Perry’s court. He’s lucky his bandmates are being so kind. Most people in his situation would not get another chance. As it stands he probably won’t but on the off possibility he does, it will have to be his last. I hope for the sake of his fans, his bandmates and himself, he takes the right steps going forward.”
