On a recent episode of Dark Matter, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro announced that his bandmate Perry Farrell will be releasing a new solo album featuring The Cars guitarist Elliot Easton.

David Bowie producer Tony Visonti recently revealed that he is producing Farrell’s album.

“I’ve produced an album for Perry Farrell, which will come out in 2018,” Visconti said speaking from his New York home in a recent Irish Times interview. “He is a very talented and smart man. I love his music.”

Farrell has teased that he has been collaborating with his former Porno for Pyros bandmate Peter DiStefano in recent months on Twitter, so DiStefano is likely another musician participating in the project.

Jane’s Addiction and its two most high profile members, Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, have not been very prolific musically in the 2010’s. The band last released The Great Escape Artist in 2011, with Farrell and Navarro not releasing any albums or EP’s in the last 7 and a half years. Jane’s Addiction have toured playing their greatest hits off and on during this time period. Perry Farrell has teased an immersive theater project called Kind Heaven for the last 5 years, but it has yet to materialize.

Farrell released his first solo album Song Yet To Be Sung in 2001, and released another album called Ultra Payloaded in 2007 under the name Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party in 2007.
