Kid Rock is making a comeback in the restaurant business , this time in Nashville. The musician announced the launch of his new venture, The Detroit Cowboy, on X (formerly Twitter), proudly sharing that his latest establishment will open in Tennessee, not Michigan.

“A small group of very bad people thought they canceled me and my restaurant in Detroit in 2020,” he wrote. “All you dumbasses did was hurt the city I LOVE.”

His previous spot, Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit, located inside Little Caesars Arena, closed its doors in 2020. According to ABC7, Kid Rock chose not to renew the licensing agreement, ending the restaurant’s run amid controversy. Arena operator Ilitch Holdings had emphasized a commitment to “inclusive, respectful” venues after several public incidents involving Kid Rock. In response, the artist stated he would “go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.”

Adding to the controversy, Fox News reported that the Detroit location had faced legal troubles, including a racial discrimination lawsuit settled in 2019 after a bartender was fired.

Now, Kid Rock is moving forward with The Detroit Cowboy, a 12,000-square-foot restaurant set to open in Nashville, in the former Joe Muer Seafood space. As confirmed by The Spokesman-Review, this marks a fresh chapter in Kid Rock’s restaurant ambitions.
