KID ROCK praises the cowboy lifestyle, calling it “the coolest American thing ever.”

While speaking to Glenn Beck in a new interview, Kid Rock – who is originally from a town just outside of Detroit, MI – opened up about embracing cowboy culture and incorporating it into his image.

“It wasn’t until, probably… 20 [or] 25 years ago when I started performing at high levels, and started doing rodeos… So I was like, ‘This is kinda cool, kinda bad*ss.’” the musician explained.

“It’s one of the toughest sports, and I don’t mean tough like UFC tough. I mean, like cowboys and that whole lifestyle, and cowgirls, they’re just tough people,” he said.

“I mean, just the way they live. They work so hard. The way they raise their families. The way they love this country. To me, that’s tough…”

Host Glenn Beck then chimed in, saying that there has recently been a “renaissance” in embracing the cowboy lifestyle.

“It’s kind of embedded in our culture. And America owns that, you know, cowboy culture.” Rock said. “It’s the greatest movies, it’s the greatest tales… Arguably, just the coolest American thing ever. Rock ‘n’ roll gave it a good run, but, you know…”

“The independent spirit of rock ‘n’ roll comes from the cowboy,” Beck added, to which Rock agreed.
The musician has recently partnered with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) for Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo, an event that blends rodeo sports with rock music.
