Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland recently drew backlash and sparked controversy after posting a blunt message aimed at supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration.
Wes Borland takes a shot at Donald Trump
In a statement shared publicly, Borland wrote:
“If any of my followers voted or support Trump or are still friends with anyone who supports the Trump administration you’re out. F*** you.”
The comment quickly spread across social media, drawing strong reactions from fans on both sides of the political divide. Some praised Borland for taking an uncompromising stand against Trump, while others criticized the guitarist for alienating longtime fans and promoting division.
Borland, known for his outspoken views and unconventional artistic persona, has never shied away from political commentary. However, the severity of this message — which extends not only to Trump supporters but also to those who associate with them — marks one of his most hardline public statements to date.
Limp Bizkit typically avoids overt political messages in their music, instead emphasising aggression, satire, and counterculture themes. Borland’s recent post, therefore, is unusual for the band’s public persona and has sparked renewed debate about whether artists should keep their personal political views separate from their relationships with fans.
So far, Borland has not issued any follow-up clarification or retracted his comments. It remains to be seen if this will have lasting effects on Limp Bizkit’s audience, but the response highlights how deeply divided political opinions are today — even within the rock and metal scenes.
