Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers’ final photo

Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers tragically died on Saturday. Rivers posted several photos on August 23rd prior to his death on Saturday. In the photos, Rivers was riding in a luxury car as Limp Bizkit wrapped up their summer tour, as seen below.

Limp Bizkit have had one of their busiest years in recent memory, returning to the road and releasing their first new single in four years. The band dropped “Making Love to Morgan Wallen” in September 2025, marking their first release since 2021’s Still Sucks. NME described the track as a tongue-in-cheek but unmistakably heavy return to the classic Bizkit sound, while Kerrang called it a “defiant mix of mischief and swagger.”

The song was first teased through a viral Instagram video featuring drummer Kristina Rybalchenko, where Fred Durst jokingly told her, “That’s our new song — please don’t put it on the internet.” The clip quickly spread and fueled speculation ahead of the official release.

Alongside the single, Limp Bizkit have kept a full touring schedule in 2025. They returned to Abu Dhabi on August 12th for their first show there in more than a decade, performing at Etihad Arena for a sold-out crowd.

On top of touring, Limp Bizkit have been back in the studio. Metal Injection confirmed the group has been recording new material, though no album details have been announced yet. Between their live shows, recording sessions, and the success of their new single, 2025 was a massive year for Limp Bizkit, with Sam Rivers’ remaining integral to the band until the very end. The band teased continuing when announcing Rivers’ death, as they did during his previous hiatus. One would expected Limp Bizkit’s new album to be a tribute to Rivers.
