The Desert Sun recently reported, “Could Tool pop up at Coachella?

Maynard James Keenan’s original prog metal incarnation Tool has been working on new material since 2006.

So, each clue about a new album release is devoured by the cult of Maynard.

Absent any news about Tool, devotees watch for the reclusive Keenan, aka MJK, to turn up in some non-Tool form – as a member of progressive rockers A Perfect Circle, with alt rock band Pucifer, on the TV comedy Mr. Show, or at his Arizona winery, Caduceus Cellars.

Anticipation for Tool’s first release since 10,000 Days is why A Perfect Circle’s entry on line 18 of the 2018 Coachella poster (sixth down from Sunday’s headliner Eminem) has Tool fans wondering whether the elusive band might slip in a desert set.

Or maybe a whole new album?”

The writer, Greg Burton, tweeted the story to Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan. Burton asked, “Thoughts? Could A Perfect Circle drop some new Tool tracks at Coachella?”

Keenan responded, “No.”

Jidenna recently tweeted, “Thanks for showing love bruh. And by the way @mjkeenan you just put me on to @aperfectcircle.”

Keenan responded by promoting his wine cellar company, “Ooooooh. See now welcome to the Rabbit Hole. Sachet your way through @aperfectcircle then brace yourself for @puscifer and @Tool We serve up a wide menu. You’re gonna need some wine. @caduceuscellars.”
