Maynard James Keenan has offered a huge update on Tool’s new album on his Twitter page. Keenan reiterated that he did his scratch vocals awhile ago. Adam Jones indicated that this was done in March when Keenan had a break from A Perfect Circle for a few weeks.

While Tool won’t have their new album out by the end of 2018, he expects the new album to come out in 2019. He said Adam Jones is ‘deep in guitars now’ and the he will record his final vocals after the guitars are done.

He tweeted, “Update- Scratch Vox tracked awhile ago. AJ deep in Guitars now. Final Vox after. Step back. Adjust. Mix. Adjust. Re-Adjust. Master. Adjust. Re-Adjust. Long Way 2 Go But Much Closer. #TOOL #2019.”

View Keenan’s new tweet below. Keenan has been focused on winemaking this summer after completing a European leg of A Perfect Circle’s Eat the Elephant tour. The band will soon embark on a fall North American tour, and then 2019 should be free and clear for the new Tool record and an accompanying tour. The last album Tool released was 10,000 Days in 2006.
