Maynard James Keenan and Tool have been forced to take a break from touring due to the worldwide pandemic this year, and it appears the some of Maynard’s businesses have been struggling due to the economic impact on the United States.

Maynard told Kerrang, “There have definitely been ups and downs. Some of our businesses have been struggling but we’re making it work,” he says of his ride on the corona-coaster, before pointing down at his feathered friends. “It helps to have your own wine and eggs.”

A fan named FatherLAG2 said on Reddit that “Intention” is Tool’s most underrated song. He wrote, “Ok, look. I’m not saying it’s their best work, but it comes pretty close for me. Like, have you ever heard this song through a high quality DAC with good headphones. All of Maynard’s little whispers and sounds in the beginning half of the song are literally the most engaging thing to listen to over and over again.

I swear I think he takes a bong rip at around the 3 minute mark. This song is one of best produced songs off of 10,000 Days and maybe one of their best sounding songs to date from a technical standpoint. Not to mention Justin’s baseline with all the alternating harmonics and slides it’s incredible.

Plus, Danny’s electric drums in the latter half are incredible like holly crap. I find it so sad that many fans treat it as just a prelude to Right in Two and that the band doesn’t play it more like have you seen videos of them playing it live?!? It’s absolutely mystical.”
