Mick Jagger Asked About Michael Jackson

Machine Gun Kelly has shifted between genres and does whatever he wants in his career. Some people dislike him and call him a poser, while others appreciate how he strives to keep things interesting in rock music.

Speaking to Popcast, MGK revealed he had dinner with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones – a musician who praised him in the past. He began by recalling the famous compliment he received:

“Well, Mick Jagger had that quote. I forgot what it was exactly, but it was something along the lines of, ‘MGK is making rock and roll fun again.’ And I think when they [legendary musicians] sit down, I’m so curious, I’m also awkward, so I just want to immediately ask questions. But I think I’ll just go to like, ‘Okay, these guys are from eras of all of the greatest.'”

MGK spoke highly of Mick Jagger and described how he did his best to absorb every word he was told during the dinner:

“He is quite possibly the greatest frontman of all time. I’m like, ‘Hey, any Michael Jackson stories? Any Bob Dylan stories?’ I’m doing that. I’m having a podcast with him. And I’m just like, you know, hanging on to every word because he’s so interesting and he’s so alive.”

MGK stated that he never actually asked Mick Jagger what he thought of him. He jokingly added that, while it seems a reasonable question, it would sound ridiculous if he actually did it:

“But I never, I didn’t ask him… I guess in theory it would make sense, but in person, I’d probably be like, ‘So what do you feel about me? If you look me in my eyes, what are you…? Tell me how awesome I am.'”
