Northwest Music Scene reports that the upcoming Mother Love Bone benefit show has been moved to the larger Neptune Theater in Seattle due to huge ticket sales.

Seattle Area non-profit SMASH (Seattle Musicians Access to Sustainable Healthcare) has organized their first annual benefit concert paying tribute to the music of Seattle rock pioneers Mother Love Bone on May 5th at Neptune Theatre. SMASH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping our music community healthy and thriving by providing health education, advocacy, and access to preventative healthcare to Seattle area working musicians.

“The Seattle music scene has always been about community” said SMASH co-founder Steph Fairweather. “Music is our culture, it’s one of the things that defines us. Many of our region’s musicians find it hard to balance the cost of living with paying for routine doctor visits, and who often prioritize sparking emotion through making art over self-care.. This is our way of supporting the health of those who give us so much”.

The show will cover Mother Love Bone’s entire catalog and will feature singers Carrie Akre (Hammerbox/Goodness), Adam Czeisler (Sweetwater),Shawn Smith (Brad/Pigeonhead), Robb Benson (Stereo Embers), Ohm Johari (Hell’s Belles), Ben Rew (Camarosmith), Steve Mack (Stag) plus Surprise Guests.

House band includes drummer Michael Musburger (The Posies), bassist Jeff Rouse (Duff McKagen’s Loaded), and guitarists Ben London (Stag, Alcohol Funnycar) and Tim DeJulio (Stereo Embers, Flight To Mars).

Members of Mother Love Bone were announced to appear on the initial poster, but it is unclear what members will perform, though ‘surprise guests’ are advertised.
