Nikki Sixx Fires Back at Vince Neil Insult

Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has publicly defended frontman Vince Neil after a social media user attacked Neil’s appearance and singing, prompting a blunt response from Sixx that underscored their decades-long bond in the band.

An X user told Sixx on March 7 that he should get Neil “jogging or some Ozempic,” adding an insult about the singer’s weight and claiming he “can’t sing,” and Sixx replied the next day by calling the post “embarrassing” and telling the commenter off while describing Neil as his “brother” of 45 years.

Neil has faced sustained online criticism for years over his weight and his live vocals, particularly in the modern touring era, even as the band has continued to play major shows and booked new dates.

In 2021, Neil shared footage of himself training in the gym and trying an Emsculpt Neo treatment ahead of 2022’s “Stadium Tour,” and he has previously described stage performance itself as a demanding routine, including claims in past interviews that he covers significant distance while moving during shows.

The exchange arrives as Mötley Crüe continues to look toward its next major run, with “The Return Of Carnival Of Sins” tour set to begin July 17, 2026 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, featuring support from Extreme and Tesla while also marking the band’s 45th anniversary.
