Novoselic recently criticized President Donald Trump on Facebook. He supported Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson during the 2016 campaign.

“After his public healthcare fiasco, Trump’s next reality check will soon be on immigration and his cranky wall idea. The agriculture community is already nervous about the president’s immigration proposals. Here is a link to the damage Trump has already caused with his tanking Trans Pacific Partnership. Sanders also campaigned against TPP, and Clinton supported TPP until she put her finger up to the political wind to flip flop against this trade deal. All three of these ambitious politicians pander to voters while at the same time caring less about reality.

The bottom line is US agriculture had significant tariff reductions in 11 pacific rim partners pulled out from under them. Who is going to take accountability for this? Not the politicians and others living on hunches and best guesses.

Trump and his supporters need to realize policies have consequences. They think they are so smart and their ideas just make plain sense. However, public policy is a soft science and can take unexpected turns. Indeed, Trump is known to throw caution to the wind, and the link shows how pieces scatter wherever. Now Texas cattle ranchers are literally eating it—however it is not a juicy steak on their plates—rather a sh*t sandwich.”
