Later this month, BBC is set to air a new documentary titled “Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.” The project will offer a look at the final chapter of Ozzy’s life and features contributions from his wife Sharon and his kids Jack and Kelly.

Filmed over the span of three years, the documentary follows the late Black Sabbath frontman and Sharon as they make the move back to the UK after living in the US for over two decades.

The project also details how the metal pioneer prepared for his and Black Sabbath’s massive farewell show “Back to the Beginning” – which took place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, England just 17 days before he passed away.

“Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home” was originally slated to be a new documentary series titled “Home to Roost” (which was announced back in 2022), but was turned into a one-hour film due to Ozzy’s deteriorating health.

A press release for the documentary describes it as “full of love, laughter and tears” and a “candid and uplifting tribute to one of the world’s true icons.”

“We are honored to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family,” said Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning. “The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK. It features family moments, humor, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon.

“We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Executive Producers Ben Wicks and Colin Barr added: “It was an incredible privilege to spend the last few years with Ozzy, as well as Sharon, Jack and Kelly. Ozzy wanted to make it back to the UK and appear on stage one last time – our film is an inspiring and poignant account of him fulfilling that dream.”

“Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home” is set to air exclusively on BBC One and iPlayer on August 18th.
