Aimee Osbourne speaks about Ozzy’s health decline

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s eldest daughter, Aimee, opened up about the late rock legend’s health battles stemming from complications following a 2018 surgery. Although Aimee has largely stayed out of the spotlight, she reflected on the difficulty of witnessing her father endure his medical struggles in the new documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now.”

“We’re kind of raised to believe that doctors are superheroes, in a way,” she said. “And although they’re very skilled – some of them – a lot of them really don’t have the answers.”

Aimee continued, recalling watching her father’s health decline after the surgery.

“He’s had many accidents that I’ve seen, but you could tell this was not one he was going to get away with in the same way,” she explained. “He was in great distress and a lot of pain… I can’t imagine many people are used to seeing their parents like that.”

In the film, Ozzy’s wife Sharon also spoke about the botched surgery, detailing the extent of the damage it caused.

“We finally found a surgeon that said, ‘They were overly aggressive with your operation. They’ve done stuff that you didn’t need doing,’” Sharon revealed. “And what this other surgeon had done was, he’d put plates either side with all these screws and apparently that didn’t need to be done. So he caused even more damage. They took out the metal plates and the screws that were in Ozzy and tried to patch up as much as he could, but the main damage was done.”

“Ozzy: No Escape From Now” was filmed prior to Ozzy’s death and details his life up until his July 2025 farewell concert, which took place just days before he passed away.

Ozzy tribute concert in 2026

In the wake of Ozzy’s farewell concert, speculation has grown that “Back to the Beginning” may not be a one-time event. Recent trademark filings have fueled these rumors, hinting that a larger plan could be unfolding. A U.S. application was recently submitted to protect the “Back to the Beginning” name under entertainment services for live musical performances, filed by Monowise Ltd., the company long tied to Ozzy’s rights. The filing also covers merchandise, suggesting the phrase could become more than just the title of a farewell show.

Additional paperwork is reportedly expected to follow in the U.K., adding more weight to the idea that future tribute concerts or even annual festivals could take place under the “Back to the Beginning” banner. Some reports indicate that the brand could serve as the foundation for a recurring memorial event celebrating Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s legacy. While the July 5, 2025 show at Villa Park in Birmingham remains the only confirmed performance, these filings lay the groundwork for future events that may carry the name well beyond Ozzy’s lifetime.
