Barracuda Style have up a new piece with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament.

Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, and Eddie Vedder are the members of the fictional band created for the movie Singles, Citizen Dick. For the character of Cliff Poncier – the leader of the band, played by Matt Dillon – Cameron Crowe was inspired by the look of Jeff Ament, who recalls:

“I do not speak just like Dillon, but I took a couple of thousand dollars by lending him my clothes. I was wearing shorts all year long. I used to ride a bike everywhere, I did not have a car and when I went to try I had to bring the bike down, so I could not wear jeans. I do not know what defines what is grunge or what is not.

I never put flannel shirts. Surely I had a little ‘hats. It all started when I was in the Green River and I had a girl who was making hats. In those days I did not look like a rock star, I seemed more like an imbecile. Part of it was functional and partly due to what I had available.”

Singles was released in 1992 and featured music by Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, and Screaming Trees.
