Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron has uploaded a new guitar riff he is working on that sounds like his other band Soundgarden. It’s unclear what the riff is for, either the new Pearl Jam album or a solo project. Cameron will reunite with Soundgarden bandmates Kim Thayil and Ben Shepherd at the ‘I Am The Highway’ Chris Cornell tribute show in Los Angeles on January 16, 2019.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has formed a new band called Power Paw. @otisserie posted on Instagram:

“3 cats get together-(myself included on guitar and vocals on my ideas, Jeff sings on his, and all 3 of us do back ups) all musicians, all skateboarders, show up in recording studios to just see what happens. No practice before no ideas what the others bring, till they hear it in the studio, very much the opposite of traditional recording methods like ‘be well rehearsed and ready to record the minute you step into the studio’ as all previous times I’ve made records. I promise anytime you show and song or idea To Mario Rubalcaba, he’s gonna blow your mind in 10 minutes, and Jeff Ament is as seasoned a professional musician can be, with so many ideas and enhancements at the drop of a bucket to your idea or his it’s Crazy Good. We are calling this outfit ‘Power Paw’ after the great vintage Skateboard wheels from the 70s.

I’ve known these cats for quite sometime and it’s real awesome to get to do this. Add @benmooremusic to the mix and shit just magically happens. He also lent some great keyboards to our songs, another friend of many years and a great producer. As seen in these photos(swipe left for Jeff) Mario likes to put his shirt on backwards and play drums left handed for a challenge?Jeff tunes in Space with his head gear! These where shot at Big Fish Studios a studio I’ve made many albums in❤️both photos are ‘1 Photo And 1 Photo Only’ Portraits©️2018 Photos By O. @chimbot #jeffament songs soon!”
