Perry Farrell has apologized to Dave Navarro after their battle onstage.

Farrell told his Jane’s Addiction bandmates he is sorry in a new Instagram post, writing, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in unexcusable behavior, and I take full responsibility for how I chose to handle the situation.”

Fans have reacted mostly positively to the apology, with one fan posting on Reddit, “It’s obviously Perry’s fault , but to be fair I think there was probably a LOT more going on behind the scenes than we realized. It all just came to a head in that one moment. Who know what disagreements were going on in the band regardless of Perry being fucked up. And maybe what was going on had a hand in why Perry went downhill so quickly. Not trying to deflect the blame from Perry but there’s always more going on than meets the eye.”

Another fan added a direct apology would be better, “If I was Dave, or the others I’d much prefer him say it in person or over the phone. The world doesn’t need to know… unless of course you’re trying to make yourself look better.”
