Xombie have exclusively premiered their innovative new innovative 360 video for “Might As Well” on Alternative Nation’s Facebook page. The video is interactive, as you can move around and see iconic New York visuals while watching Xombie perform “Might As Well,” which feels like a great fresh take on Rage Against The Machine, which is very fitting in today’s tumultuous times.

The idea of the “Might as Well” video was to create a unique music video experience for users that leveraged the 360 feature on platforms like YouTube and Facebook, whether on mobile or desktop. With viewer attention spans getting shorter and shorter, Xombie really wanted an engaging video that constantly had something to look at, rather than just setting up a static 360 camera and performing around.

Chris Seerveld, who directed, shot and edited the entire video, added special effects to keeping the video interesting throughout. We originally were going to shoot this as a performance piece and the scenes of me (Adam) walking through the city were added later when Chris felt the video needed some more dynamic, especially motion.

The video features locations such as: Gantry Plaza State Park (Long Island City, Queens), Astoria Park (Queens), Our friend, Da Supa’s Rooftop (Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan), Grand Central Terminal, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, SOHO, Washington Square Park, and various trains and subway stations in NYC.”

Check out Xombie‘s new album Super Cell, set for release on June 2nd. Also check out the band on Soundcloud and Facebook.
