On Tuesday (June 3rd), Kid Rock (whose real name is Robert James Ritchie) opened a new all-American-themed seafood restaurant. In celebration of the eatery’s opening, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to congratulate the musician.

“Congratulations to my friend, Kid Rock (I call him Bob!), on the Grand Opening of his new Nashville restaurant, ‘The Detroit Cowboy,’” he wrote in a post late on Monday.

“I hear it is a very friendly MAGA establishment, and look forward to going there sometime soon!” Trump added.

Responding to the President on Twitter/X, the singer and longtime Trump supporter wrote: “Thank you, Mr. President. Keep kickin’ *ss for America, sir!”

Last month, a local Nashville news outlet reported that one of Kid Rock’s other restaurants – Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse – instructed some of its employees who do not have legal citizenship to go home in order to avoid ICE raids in the area. As a result, the restaurant was left short staffed, leaving only a few employees to deal with the busy crowd.

Days after this news made headlines, Rock responded to the claims, writing on Twitter/X: “Clearly I do not have anything to do with day-to-day operations at my Honky Tonk — but it’s good click bait, I get it.”

“That being said I 100% support getting illegal criminals out of our country no matter where they are. I also like President Trump want to speed up the process of getting GREAT immigrants into our country – LEGALLY!”
