Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has debuted a new song titled “Poem.” The song is a synth jam, and it has divided fans on YouTube. One fan said it sounded like a ‘Transformers gang bang’ while another called it an ‘R2-D2 love song.’

Here are some of the other best responses from YouTube, followed by the song:

“He’s now in the state of mind like Lou Reed was with ‘Metal Machine Music.’ Sorry, but that’s to noisy and creates a state of feeling uncomfortable to me. As much as I like John l have to say it’s nothing for me. If anybody else would’ve put something like that out, I’d yell bullshit.”

“John Frusciante or Skrillex? ???”

“WAKE UP JOHN WTF IS THIS SHIT MAN? STAR WARS?”

“Am I the only who remembered of an episode of Friends, where Ross plays ‘his music’ on a keyboard? really similar sounds.”

“I respect JOSH more now.. At least he likes to play guitar.. And not doing this shit. John, come back to reality please!”

“I know I’m in the minority on this but I actually loved it. Especially when I can relate to this type of noise sometimes life is just chaos.”

“I’ve listened to this more than 7 times, and it’s so unique. It’s logical, It’s not just noises. It has repetitions, and structure as any kind of music. And it has a message, as a poem that’s not so clear by the first time we read.”
