Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and his doppelganger Will Ferrell held another charity concert called ‘Will Ferrell’s Best Night of Your Life’ on October 6th at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Smith formed a one off supergroup for the show called Chad Smith’s Super Mega Funktastic Jam Rock All Stars.

Members include Smith, his Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Josh Klinghoffer, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan.

Chad Smith recently interviewed Duff McKagan about the supergroup and show on SiriusXM’s Volume. Alternative Nation transcribed some of their comments.

Chad Smith: It did come out, and I think it sold out in like 10 seconds of course. The Greek isn’t a big place, and I’m sure you’ve played there before. Are you ready?

Duff McKagan: I got to know what songs we’re playing

Chad: I know, but my last text with you was: ‘Dude, whatever you want to play, you feel comfortable playing on, not playing on. I wanna rock with you, I wanna rock with everybody.’ We had so much fun when we did the thing at the Showbox, so I want to continue the good time. Whatever you want to play and feel comfortable with, let’s do that, okay? Because I don’t want people to say, well Duff played two songs then sat down and smoked cigarettes the rest of the set.

Duff: I was thinking you and I would probably do like a Circle Jerks set in the middle of it.

Chad: no, not the band. Now that’s entertainment right there. I want to see that, that’s the price of admission. Jerry Seinfeld who? Chad and Duff are gonna jerk off.

Chad mentioned his previous performance with the supergroup sans Chris Martin in Seattle, and how he wanted the band name to be ‘I Shit My Pants,’ but Will Ferrell shot it down.
