Terrence Malik will release his new film Song to Song on March 17th.

The synopsis for the film is, “In this modern love story set against the Austin, Texas music scene, two entangled couples — struggling songwriters Faye (Rooney Mara) and BV (Ryan Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Michael Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman) — chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal.” The cast also includes Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Val Kilmer, Cate Blanchett, and Benicio Del Toro.

Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Florence and the Machine, and Red Hot Chili Peppers also appear in the film. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith hinted on Twitter that he beats up Fassbender’s character in the film, though he could be joking.

Smith tweeted, “Wonder if they left in the part of me kicking the shit out of Fassbender..”
