Former Van Halen member Sammy Hagar recently addressed criticism from a fan regarding his new restaurant venture. He responded to accusations about profiting without touring in a post that he shared on Instagram.
The exchange started as Sammy Hagar announced the opening of his new establishment. He highlighted its charitable connections.
Hagar announced, “Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill at Charlotte Douglas Intl Airport is officially Open. So happy to be part of the Charlotte community and proud to support Hope Street Food Pantry and Atrium Health Levine Children’s through the Hagar Family Foundation.”
A fan responded critically to the announcement. The fan questioned Hagar’s business approach.
The fan commented, “So since he won’t tour around the world, he expects people to come and visit his restaurant.”
Sammy Hagar responded to criticism by highlighting the charitable purpose of his charitable venture, stating it’s meant to support Levine Children’s Hospital and a local food bank, and suggesting critics should be supportive of that.
He said, “Only those traveling to the area and want to help support the kids from Levine Children’s Hospital and the pantry food bank. I would think you would be OK with that?”
