In a new Instagram story fan Q&A, Billy Corgan has confirmed that The Smashing Pumpkins will be releasing a full length reunion album produced by Rick Rubin. The band recorded eight songs earlier this year, and the original plan was to release them as two EP’s, but it appears now that it will be a full length record. It will be the band’s first album to feature James Iha since MACHINA/The Machines of God in 2000, and the first with Jimmy Chamberlin since 2007’s Zeitgeist. Corgan also said in the fan Q&A that he wants to work with Butch Vig again. Vig produced Gish and Siamese Dream.

Rumor has it the 2 new EP’s might become 1 album. Can you confirm/deny?

One LP.

Do you see yourself working with Butch (Vig) again?

Would love to. But Butch is afraid of us. He likes a peaceful life.

Are you considering putting Jimmy on as a full time Uke player?

It’s a tough call, uke vs. drums. Big debate internally.

The Jimmy Chamberlin question was in light of the legendary drummer playing ukulele for the final encore song on The Shiny and Oh So Bright tour. Corgan said earlier this year that Chamberlin co-wrote a new Smashing Pumpkins song, which will be his first songwriting credit in his 30 years in and out of the band. “Solara” was released a couple of months ago as the first track off of the new album. Below is a list of the new songs in no particular order.

Tracklisting:
Solara
Marchin’ On
Travels
Seek and You Shall Destroy
With Sympathy
Knights of Malta
Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)
Alienation
