The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a sequel to their Siamese Dream ‘Rock Invasion’ tour.

Billy Corgan wrote on social media, “ROCK INVASION 2 TOUR! Pre-sale starts tomorrow. SP socials have the details, but I’ve got the inside angle on what it means. To my hinting, convoluted as it may be after a year’s work on the new SP album, we’ve done a few tours since James and Jimmy and I decided to put the whole thing back together and hit the road.

To date, we’ve headlined some mighty big festivals, authored our first arena tour in 20 years or so, put out a record that wasn’t really an album, and just got the whole ball of noise pointed back in the right direction.

Which, thanks to you, has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. So, what’s left beyond the new record, our first double album effort since Machina? Well, that’s simple: to rock. And not just a strong rock show, which is what we’ve been doing since the return of 2007. i’m talking about the kind of show and set we haven’t done for a very, very long time. If you’re an old school fan, you know what I’m talking about; and the descriptors are unnecessary. If you’re a new school fan, come see what the queasy legend was built on. Full, unrelenting power. Enjoy! And bring your ear plugs…ROCK INVASION 2 @smashingpumpkins.”
