Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness has posted a tribute in honor of his late drummer Charlie Quintana, who played with the band in the 2000’s and in Ness’ solo band. Quintana died yesterday.

“I’m shocked and saddened to hear of Charlie’s passing. He was an incredibly talented musician who I enjoyed playing with very much. We had many great years together and shared a lot of laughs. Charlie and I shared a special connection and we were always on the same page when it came to having a good night onstage. We offer our sincere condolences to Charlie’s family as we’re so very sorry for their loss; we will all miss him. – Ness”

Graziella Bovolato wrote, “For Charlie Quintana…

Tim Scott Mcconnel:

‘There is such a thing as magic…Charlie was that….his playing could bring you to thankful tears…just to be making music with him….we were kindred musical souls…but I will miss his knowing smile even more than his drumming.'”

Johnny A. Hickman wrote, “Virgin Records publicity shot for The Golden Age. Thought bubbles above heads: Lowery + Hickman…”Yeah yeah, we have shiny shirts and shit, thanks label wardrobe geeks. Quintana and Rupe….”We’re bored….fuck this, let’s go play rock music.”
