Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron indicated that he, Kim Thayil, and Ben Shepherd are not receiving payments from sales of merchandise and t-shirts through Soundgarden’s online store, and that they have lost control. Alternative Nation transcribed the interaction. Soundgarden are involved in litigation with Vicky Cornell, recently demanding a jury trial.

A fan asked Cameron, “Matt, can you please confirm if you, Kim and Ben, receive any income from merchandise etc. that is sold on the Soundgarden website store? If not, then I refuse to purchase anything from the online store. If you confir you do then I will purchase merchandise to support you guys. I WILL NOT buy anything if you guys aren’t receiving a profit or are not involved with the products. Much love to you all.”

Cameron responded, “I cannot confirm the three of us are being paid from the online store. Once we regain control, we’ll let you all know. Thanks for the support.”

Chris Cornell‘s widow Vicky released the ‘original’ version of “Only These Words” a couple of days ago to celebrate Toni Cornell’s 16th birthday.

Vicky said, “Your dad would be so proud of the smart, strong, beautiful, and confident woman you are growing up to be.

You are so very loved, and you give so much love, freely and unconditionally. Your first sentence was ‘I love you’ to your baby brother when you first met him. As your dad so perfectly sang and what it’s always all about – ‘Only these three words repeating…I love you…’

Continue to do great things, my sweet girl. He is always with you! And to celebrate you with everyone- I’m sharing part of daddy’s original version of ‘Only These Words’ Happy 16th Birthday, Toni!”
